Stephenie Meyer may write more Twilight books.
During a press conference for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," author Stephenie Meyer was asked about the rumor that she is planning to write more "Twilight" books.
Which ones? The ones that were mentioned years ago? I remember her talking about all of her great ideas to write some from Renesmee's POV. I also remember her threats to write one from Leah's, because the fits I threw were epic. Her story is unfinished my ass. Leave her the fuck alone.
She revealed that there are no current plans, but she's not opposed to writing more installments in the future.
Oh, so she's already revoking what she said before. There are NO plans now. Interesting.
"I planned out where it would go for a couple more books," said Meyer.
*just laughs* Oh, you planned it out. Right, just like you obviously planned out the published ones oh-so well.
"There are other characters who I think would have a lot of voice in those coming stories."
And they would all be the same voice. Mostly talking about how awesome
Regarding when she will start writing, she replied: "Maybe someday I'll write [the stories] just for myself. I'm not going to do it today, but I don't know how I'm going to feel in five years."
(Meyer): I might write something in another five years, so definitely don't stop paying attention to me!
When asked if she would be willing to let someone else write new "Twilight" book, Meyer said: "It's gonna be a hard thing. I'm a hands on mom, and these characters really do feel like my kids."
No, they feel like YOU. They ALL feel like you. Shut up.
In all seriousness, though, I'm not that concerned. Meyer has been promising new things for literally years. She's got all KINDS of ideas, and they are all so awesome and will produce huge books and--nothing. She won't deliver because she's lost interest in writing. Writing was only ever a hobby for her. She's ultimately a flash in the pan, and her flash has come and gone--once the Twilight series is out of theaters, it will die the death it needs. It'll continue to have its more rabid fans, like the Twimoms, but I've been watching some of the bigger forums devoted to TW--the Twilight Lexicon forum is slowly dying, the posts becoming more and more infrequent. Same with the Twimoms. Only two or three threads there keep getting attention. She won't write anything new, and so people are losing interest. She keeps promising things and won't deliver, so people don't believe her.
It's pretty clear that she's dropped the writing hobby and has found a new one--Meyer now fancies herself quite the producer. So let her. I can ignore that a lot more easily than I can ignore her books, because when she writes books, people expect me to recap them.
